No surprises
The Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) is a Federal law enacted in December 2020. The CAA includes the No Surprises Act (NSA), which provides consumer protections like transparency on member health benefits and prohibitions on surprise billing. Generally, the protections under the NSA are effective as of Jan. 1, 2022.
The Tri Agencies responsible for implementation of this act have postponed implementation of some sections of the Act. Our organization will continue to monitor, adjust processes and communicate as needed.
